Up and Down

Today, we have a good news for all the customers.
After a few weeks of marketing research,
we have decided to lower our price!!
Hurray for everyone!!

I could see the satisfaction in customers,
Anyone would love to be able to enjoy great food
without paying too much, isn't that true?
Therefore, most of the stir fried has gone down from 50 cents to a dollar!

We apologize for the delay of our menu,
we have been using temporary menus for our customers,
now we are working on the real menu,
and hope that it will soon be ready for you.

In the morning, mom was in pain with arthritis,
I held her hands and prayed for her, we were in the Kopitiam,
the sky is still dim, the lamp of the front store is shining bright in the dark.
Then a gigantic, beautiful butterfly flew in to our store, and danced in front of us.
It was unforgettable, and comforting.
On of the staff shout out,
something good is gonna happen today!

I keep that in my heart, knowing that God is with us.

Did something good happen on that day?
Every day is a day of grace,
but that day was a special day, we received an unusual group of visitors,
they were gracious and kind, they came and occupied 3 tables,
they filled the room with gentleness and care,
like someone who is kind and loving is in the room right now,
the food they ordered were all finished, they love our kopitiam.

通常, 顧客吃完了後, 服務生都會詢問他們的建議 或是否滿意我們的服務與食物.
但當我看到了此圖的情況, 一景勝千言..

When do people eat? 人什麼時候吃?

When do people eat? If you asked me the question 3 weeks ago, I would answer this question without any hesitation- they eat on the meal time; but after today's experience, I don't know the answer to this question.

I was looking at Ana and Dea, the waitresses. It was 12pm in the afternoon, the shop is totally quite, the music is softly playing, we waited, and waited, and wondered when did the customers go?
it can be true that the shop is now empty because we provide impressive service and our food is exceptional... The clock was ticking, without any delay, cruelly leaving.

Now i am surrounded by a totally different scenary, the shop is filled with conversational voices and the delicious smell of food, where do these people come from? When did they come? They are all from different place, different town, speaking different language, and it is 20 minutes from 6pm, the time we close Kopitiam. Why are they eating now? Is this their lunch, or dinner? Or both?
So, Do I know what time people eat? I don't think there is an absolute answer, as long as our customers enjoy the time here, we are happy to serve them.

Walking into her dream...

Every one has dreams, some people have already been living in their dreams, those are people who I am encouraged by;
some are planning and preparing for their dreams, that's what I am doing as well;
many are wondering if their dreams will ever come true, which is quite common nowadays;
and some are leaving their dreams behind...which is really sad;
but some, like my mom, are walking in the journey of their dream at this moment.

Two courageous mid-aged women have finally decided to start walking into the journey of their dream, one of them is my mom. On April 1, 2009, Judy Kopitiam has a new pair of owners-Kim(mom) and Alice, I believe they will success regardless how afraid they can be, because no weapon can be formed against the true passionate dreamers!
